I hope you were all able to enjoy some extra time with the children this week. I am also hoping they come back rested and ready to jump back into school! It is hard to believe we will only have 7 1/2 more weeks together before school is done for the year.
I know Betsy Lane sent out an email about the upcoming MEA testing that will be completed in the next two weeks. In the last few weeks before break, the students and I have been getting ready for this type of testing, reviewing computer tasks, etc. Please make sure the students get a good night's sleep for those three days this week as well as bringing in big healthy snacks to keep them full! This week we will focus on literacy testing, mostly in the 10-11 time frame with one afternoon block on Thursday as well.
IMPORTANT: Please check with your child about their headphones they brought in at the beginning of the year. Before break I had at least 5-6 students who said they didn't have working headphones, which they will possibly need for testing. However, at school we have a few school headphones students can borrow if needed. Thank you!
Also, could I have you help with a project. I need the students to bring in a rock that is no bigger than palm of their hands. They don't need to be able to wrap their fingers around it though so we want it a bit bigger but not too big. (Think paperweight size/ weight) Could they bring 1 in by Friday is possible? Thanks!
Lastly, I was wondering if I had any volunteers available this Friday for a different art project from 11:30-12:30? I was hoping for 4-6 people, so please email me if you are interested. As always please feel free to contact me with any questions and concerns.
